"I can use a 2.5 GB Ultra Misco Toshiba hard drive, then put it on my laptop if the main hard drive fails?
I have a Toshiba A40 series with a 2.5? 40GB HDD. I want to clone my hard drive with an external hard drive so I could just find someone to enter in the laptop if the original hard drive fails. Ultra Misco sell a box with a 40GB Toshiba HDD 2.5. Could I clone the hard drive in it and can be removed box and inserted into my computer if portable hard drive crash? A cloned hard work to replace hard disk or other Windows components missing or not working properly? This time I'm wasting my time and it would be better to just buy a new hard drive if the original. It's thought all updates and the loss of useful parameters and software that bothers me. Thank you for any help you can give me!
What you should do is make an exact copy of hard drive. This is called "cloning." I suggest you do your own research (as it will help you understand the process.) Start here: – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_cloning
