Help with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool PS3 hard drive /?

I have a 1 TB external hard drive that I have to use as a media player in a PS3 (not the person's computer using a media center). So after much research, I used the HP tool to format USB hard drive FAT32. The files i initially placed in the work of the unit test well, but when I pressed button for info on the hard drive (connected to the PS3) has said that only 127 GB of space left. I only put two files so it is not the case. If the unit is divided (that's just my estimate) How can I access the remaining space? I do not know much about partitions. I can partition and reformatted not you? Is there a better way to do it? thanks
