video files from data loss in the external hard drive?
I have a lot of movies in high definition (4 of 16 GB) each), and over 400 episodes of a program (300-400mb each) in my external hard drive (500 GB), the problem I have is that after copying PC files from my hard drive, a couple of weeks, or sometimes right away, files are "lost" some data or documents. Like when I play the movie, play, but show signs of losing data (the image does not display correctly, etc.), I know because I have the correct files on the disk drive of your PC and play very well. It seems that the external drive to a subtle form of corruption somewhere. It perhaps the file system, or may be on the surface of the box itself – difficult to estimate. You can, if you feel the need, open the box (in the appropriate safeguards, such as anti-static) and to determine what brand of car is inside. Some are better than others. The other possibility is that the disk is fine, but the circuit box (often a USB-to-SATA bridge) is a firmware bug in it (or has been damaged by excessive heat, etc.) or introduce some loss or corruption of data transferred. What we do is the following. Turn the unit off (for example, make sure you have a backup of the contents, then clear off to get the best results (for ensure that there is a problem with the file system) go to disk management of your computer and select the external drive, delete all partitions on it. Then re-create the partition, the selection of a decent file system (for example, NTFS is more robust than FAT) and reformat the partition using the format not quick. Then do a surface scan on the disc. For a disk of 500 GB that take a long time, but we tell if the sectors defective floppy disk.
