How to retrieve information from the data on my Mac? (Ext HD is connected to a Windows machine, now I do nothing)?

I was running on my Mac OS from an external hard drive when I plugged the external hard drive on a Windows machine to share files music, called to initialize, I said was fine, then asked to format, I said nope. When I reconnect with my applications, which can recognize and must be started again on my Mac question, How can I recover my data? I did not format the disk so that data should be there, I'm afraid to initialize because I do not want to lose the data … help or software any recommendations would be great! Thank you.

The hose is probably … when Windows is initialized the unit, probably replaced the upper file system on the disk. You can try some sort of data recovery software, but in all likelihood, that the data has disappeared.
