Why my WD Passport suddenly unreadable?
I have a WD Passport 320G has been working well for over 2 years, but now all of a suddenly I can not read. When I plug it makes the sounds around 4 click and you can hear the disc spinning, then we say that the disc is not readable by this equipment. It gives me an option to initialize, ignore or eject. When I choose the option that I need to initialize for the disk utility. It is an external hard drive icon from there. But Media is a 2TB WD! When I click on the icon description Disk is a WD external USB media with a total capacity of 2TB The strange thing is that in serial numbers is 202020202020202020202020. It not normal! If I try to give first aid is not going to read. The disk check and repair disk options are not saved. I files very important here, and I do not want to erase. Help please!
By clicking on the sound is a sign of a hard drive die. Option 1, try recover partitions – http://hddguru.com/content/en/software/2007.05.25-Partition-Find-and-Mount/ If option 1 does not work, try the 2, recover files with TestDisk – http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1139&page=8 If option 2 does not work, you need professional help. This option is expensive. BTW, the factory warranty on most hard drives is 3 years. After retrieving data, visit the Western Digital for replacement coverage possible from your hard drive.
